life’s like an ocean

life’s like an ocean.

waves come and go,

you either enjoy the way they move you

or let them drown you.

sometimes there’s a constant stream,

the vision’s crystal clear

but you always know the tides are near,

you’ll never be left without a splash of adrenaline.

you might’ve learned how to swim when you were a kid,

how to live through this

but the truth is, to stay afloat can be impossible at times,

even when you’re trying your hardest.

deep, hungry shades of blue,

knocking at your door to devour you

almost inviting,

somehow tempting,

your blood’s rushing in favor of the anxiety

your knuckles turn into traces of violence, they’re so violet,

but you should embrace yourself, on your own.

because the water’s not your enemy, nor your friend;

it’s just a ride that goes on until the end.
